The more I use this service the more I see it's flaws. I will not use Chrome anymore if it can't work with Brave then this services is dead to me.

It great for cord cutting. It will continue getting better as more networks are added. What is available is a great start though! I love that i can watch the local news. You can cancel if you don't like it so why not give it a try!

I dont get that the youtube app on my iphone allows me to stream video from my phone to my home tv, but the Youtube TV app does not? Now, I have to purchase an Apple TV box. I'm not getting the logic here.

It works well for the most part. Only issue I have is that trying to watch a program that is currently recording is a buggy experience. The picture freezes while the sound continues. Frustrating.
  • Guide Needed

Needs a guide. Otherwise after trialing out all of the other TV services, it was the best. Fastest, clearest quality, and easiest to navigate.
  • Used to pay $$$

I'll start with what I like about it. This saves so much money and gives us access to sporting events. We used to spend hundreds on Direct tv. As far as what I don't like about it, customer service. It's only available M-F which is inconvenient when the app has an issue. When I have an issue and I'm paying for the service and have to wait for the next day to call that's very annoying. As far as channels offered, it seems to me direct tv now offers more for the same price or cheaper and even offers other packages if you want more channels. I do like al le cart and picking and choosing what I want and pay for the channels I want not the ones I don't (e! Would be at the top of my list)
  • Great! ... for now. Definitely give it a try!

I am one of the biggest Apple fans, since the 80s, but Google really got this right! Apple hasn’t. Apple have not figured out how to provide even a mediocre TV experience.. Other providers such as Direct TV Now and Sling are also laggards. I have looked into them all. I have been using YouTube TV for 4 months now. Having unlimited cloud DVR is a tremendous value add. Just select the shows you want to add to your library and all episodes will build their over time. On the road, no problem. You still have access to all your recordings and access to live TV for channels supported in the area you are in. Even so, you can still watch shows after they record. So that means there could be an hour delay, or so, depending. Live TV- A really nice user interface that lets you see live windows of the channels as you scroll through Channel selection - is OK. Many major ones are there. It will improve over time Value- excellent. $35/ month for TV and DVR - killer deal. Another huge differentiator is that YouTube TV provides great suggestions of shows and movies you might like. Combine this with a great user interface so you can quickly examine the show, and press a button to add to your library. This is state of the art. So why did I say great for now.... because as some have commented, on some channels, there are commercials that you cannot DVR past... This defeats one of the tenants of why people use DVR, and pay extra for it. Greed has taken over commercial TV, where networks sell one third of broadcast time to commercials. Really, no intelligent person (that has financial means) is going to tolerate this type of abuse. Same with me, and probably most people looking for alternatives to traditional cable and satellite. If Google will have the backbone to keep advertisers at bay and allow us, the paying customer, to skip past commercials, then I think they will take the market place. It is certainly ripe for a paradigm shift such as Apple created with iTunes/ iPod and music. If this turns out to be the case, I am locked in. Else, I will be looking again. Given all the new competing distribution channels the internet has enabled, we are in a free market place and not an oligopoly. One final point.... remote TV controls. We forget how important they are in simplifying TV viewing until we are without them. On the surface, this service is delivered through a Web browser, so bye bye to remote. However, I use on my Apple TV using Airplay. The Apple TV remote let’s me do all the major functions such as pause, fast forward and TV volume. So this is pretty good. You have to use the web browser, unaided by a remote, to select and queue up shows. But this is not a bad compromise. I have not looked into the Google TV dongle, but I see this as an opportunity for Google to offer more remote control over Youtube TV and an improved user interface. I also leave a dedicated device (for me an iPad) in the living room so anyone that wants to watch on the main TV does not need to hunt for their laptop, or mine. My recommendation- give this service a try.... you can try for a while before you tell your cable tv provider to go packing. I bet you will be impressed. Happy TV....
