App Description

Have you ever been out and about and wondered what species that beautiful plant, flower or tree is? PlantSnap is a mobile application built to help you identify plants and trees in a snap! Simply take a picture of the plant or tree, and PlantSnap will tell you what it is in seconds. PlantSnap is powered by deep learning and artificial intelligence, meaning that it actually learns and improves with every image we feed it. Every image you take makes PlantSnap better, so get out there and start PlantSnapping! Our database is global and our results are instantaneous. PlantSnap can currently recognize 46,000 species of plants and trees, which covers most of the species you will encounter in North America and Europe. If you live outside of those areas, PlantSnap will still recognize many plants or trees that you encounter, and ALL of them very soon. We have 316,000 plants in our database, and we will be training the algorithm to recognize at least 50,000 of those species per month, fully covering almost every known plant species on Earth by the end of 2017. PlantSnap will update automatically for you every time we add a new batch of species, no additional fees required, and you will be notified every couple of weeks when that happens. **Please check your email after purchasing for more detailed information.**

Great app! I love flowers but don't know a lot of the names. This is a fun way to learn. It's working great.

Cannot identify common native plants found in Washington state. Tried identifying four plants right away and no match. Your better off googling plants of that area and comparing yourself

Glad to find this app. I'm not an expert on flowers, but like having them in my yard. Now I'm discovering some of the names I didn't know. Plant snap is simple to use and makes me look smart!

PlantSnapdid not work on the two plants I was trying to identif. I got these plants from my mother-in-law when she could no longer take care of them, but I have forgotten what she called them. I am hoping they get into the SnapPlant database sometime.

Love this app! Pretty impressive when you can now go for a walk with your kid and finally be able to identify the trees and flowers my daughter incessantly asks the name of.

I'm always seeing plants, wondering what they are, and texting my green-thumbed best friend to ask. Now I don't have to bug her anymore! I've had this one tiny 'bonsai' tree for 3 years and kept it alive but had no clue what it was. Thanks to PlantSnap I now know it's a dwarf umbrella tree! So glad this app is finally here!

I feel like our iPhones are getting closer and closer to being just like Star Trek Tricoders! PlantSnap works incredibly well, and I was very skeptical.
