VAGrades.com is a project created and maintained by two undergraduates at the University of Virginia. Both students found it difficult to find quality information about grades and distributions. The data contained in the website was the result of various requests to the University after the Spring 2017 semester. The goal of vagrades.com is to make grades at UVA and other universities more transparent. The creators hope that the tool allows students to make more informed judgements about choosing classes. Additionally, the creators hope that the website can facilitate dialogue within the community about grade inflation and deflation in various departments, and the harm that deflation can cause to students in affected fields.
