  • Great, people who are complaining were too drunk to read

    The app has always worked well. With the recent option to choose when you share your location, Uber admits their mistakes. The price you are quoted is pretty much always the price you pay, and it is painfully obvious when surge pricing is in effect. I almost feel as if all the negative reviews due to paying too much was because the customer was too blasted from a night of drinking to read and understand the quote/ surge pricing. Try it for yourself. If you don't like it, then don't continental to use it, but it's worth a shot. Bravo Uber for rolling back on your location services decision, continue to work with customers!

    Uber has gotten worse every year the drivers always stop farther and farther away from my location and start to wait to charge me extra! After I've been waiting so long for them, it's as if playing a game of hide and seek with these drivers which is unfair and a theft to us all.

    First of all, if you haven’t taken a ride yet make sure you use the coupon "jignishabenpue" to get $20 off your first ride!! Enter it right before you request a ride. Go to the Payment tab in the app and enter the coupon under promotions. Might as well try it out since it won't cost you a thing! The app is simple, easy to use and intuitive by design, giving you important info like the driver’s face, phone number, and car make and model. It’s amazing how quick and seamless the entire process is. A car comes to your door within minutes of pressing a button! The drivers are real people, they are very polite and their cars are clean! Some even come with complimentary water, gum and candy!!! Even if you want to charge your phone, a lot of drivers have phone chargers at your ready!!! UberX is definitely cheaper than your average cab. After all this, I don’t see why you would ever use a yellow cab again. The customer support is also fantastic. I got overcharged on one of my trips and I didn’t have to say anything more than a comment on my driver feedback to get a full refund. I’m very happy and I hope Uber continues to exceed my expectations in not only the app but customer service!! I also prefer Uber much more than other competitors, mainly because they have so much more supply and cars are always just a few minutes away!!! I loved ios 11 updates for apple iphone 7. All user interface are different and looks new phone. I lover feature where notifications are turned off while you are driving. Customizable control center are amazing additions.

    Finally giving location control is back to users now.Great! But, the customer service is too bad. They charged me even though driver didn’t pick me up in first place. So I tried to contact customer service and they said, I took the ride. I had to use Lyft to get to home afterwards.
  • Disguising a Mandate as a Feature LOL

    So, Uber’s disgusting manipulative tactics continue with the latest software update by claiming that they have added a new feature!! You can now choose when to share your location data! Yay!!! Oh how nice of you! But wait! Apple forced this upon app devs with the release of iOS 11? So Uber has to do this anyways? Ah, makes sense, because as we all know the people behind the company name would never be user-friendly on purpose. Well done yet again.

    I've never been so disappointed with my service, and the customer service I received when I tried to resolve the issue. I had 3 drivers cancel my ride, one after incompetently making several wrong turns, and was told I would be charged $5 to cancel. Each driver who canceled added 20 minutes to my wait time to even get a car, a ride that should have taken 20 minutes in total took close to an hour. And there doesn't seem to be a driver penalty or rider credit when a DRIVER cancels the ride, only when a RIDER cancels, even though my reason for cancellation was that the app kept increasing the time until he arrived. I simply wanted to find a driver closer by, and would have been penalized. Customer service basically told me I was SOL because all three drivers's cancellations fell within their parameters. I'm absolutely done with my patronage to Uber.

    Why do drivers have the option of setting deaf or hard of hearing yet I have to deal with four missed calls and two missed text messages when a driver sits outside for 15 seconds. There's a option for wait time for a reason don't call me and text me and ask me why I took "so long". Don't ask me where I'm going, read the address. Don't ask me what I'm doing when I get there. We're not friends, don't ask me why I'm not continuing on your small talk. I'm contemplating using cab services instead of Uber because my drivers always show me that they get barely any of the charges that I pay, yet Uber nonchalantly raised the charges recently with none of it benefitting the drivers. My rides to work are now 14 instead of 10

    Thanks a ton to Apple for making it compulsory for apps to give all access types in location settings. I was tired of using Uber without location services on. I did not want to give them full permission to location even when I don’t use the app. I can take care of my own safety. No need of forced safety concerns by invading my privacy. Thanks! Turned on the location services “While Using the app” and all’s good with life now. 😏
