I'm using this app every single day since I bought it! And I bought this app for several friends as gifts, some of them used it while cooking or jogging, they all love it. I really love listening to eBooks with the iOS' built-in "Speak Screen" + iBooks or Kindle. When I saw Voice Dream, I wondered why people would rather pay for an app which seems to have the same function as the free alternative. I decided to give it a try. What I like about this app, flawless continuous text-to-audio, playback can be paused by remote control button on headset (works with Airpods), or a simple double-finger tap on screen. Just point to any sentence, and it starts reading that particular section. I could easily see the remaining reading time required for the book, the remaining time changes when you change the reading speed. This is one of the best purchases I've made since I started using iPhone, I will rate it as 5 stars and an Essential app.
  • Problem sync w Dropbox and Evernote

The manual says "Voice Dream Reader supports Dropbox natively. If you wish to change the Dropbox account, please disable it and then enable it again." This is unclear and my app is unable to sync w any of the content sources except for instapaper, which I haven't used in years. I really wanted this app to work, but unless it can sync w Dropbox Evernote or Gdrive it is not as convenient or useful.

Having spent hundreds of dollars on text to speech software for reading books for school and work and fun, this is one of the best and most inexpensive. Highly recommended.

Every option I could want. From voice speed, to adjusting the pause at the end of a sentence, to iCloud syncing and more for text and so on... Very simple to use. Great voice selections. Very impressive. Thank you so much!

Well made, useful, super helpful for college students. It got me through so much dense and difficult material. I really appreciate this app.

Give us quality Croatian/Serbian voice. Other than that, it's an A+ app.
  • No lie. Five true stars.

This is really just an awesome app. I did a bunch of shopping around, test-drove four of the top-rated TTS apps for iPad. Voice dream stands out, not just as the best TTS solution in the bunch, but more than that, as an example of what an app should be like generally on an iPad, for ease-of-use and a clean interface. In other words, it's fun to use; it gives that little thrill you get when you discover something that's been designed just right.

Well designed controls. Pronunciation is a nice option. You can highlight a word and type in a phonetic spelling that sounds better. Be advised that the numerous free iOS voices are functional but not especially esthetically pleasing. The app purchase includes one free high quality voice you can choose down load; choose wisely and be prepared to buy more. The high quality voices are quite nice. The iOS voices are understandable but I find them not as easy to listen to for long periods. The quality of the app and it's functionality are what you can expect for the price. I can recommend it. ★★★★★

Due to an illness I am sometimes unable to hold a book or an IPad. Although I often listen to copywrited literature being read, this can get expensive. I love using Voice Dream to read the wonderful selection of free books available on Gutenberg, Openlibrary, Internet Archive, Faded pages, Hathi trust and others. Although it doesn't quite sound human, some of the voices are fairly close. I am amazed at the cadence and expression. There are minor annoyances like incorrect choice of pronunciation depending on context for words like bow and read, as well as a slightly tinny sound quality. Overall, I am very pleased with both the quality of the reading and the well thought out controls. Thanks to the developers for making my life a little better.
