Because they practice the skills daily, and because the site provides feedback, students are able to correct their mistakes and master the concepts easily.” Waleska Batista, teacher, Cherry Hill, New Jersey, U.S.A. “My favourite feature of IXL is that if you get a question wrong IXL will tell you how to solve it and what you did wrong. Another thing I really enjoy is that IXL provides awards and progress reports showing how you do over time. I think these two things are very effective because they make the student feel like they are actually studying and not wasting time.” Student, Calgary, Alberta, Canada “This program takes the frustration out of math because it allows the student to practice at his/her own pace and stay focused. It's okay if you mark one wrong because another one will be waiting. This is a great tool to have.” Parent of a 4th grader, California, U.S.A. “We like the rewards and certificates; our children work very hard to receive these! The reports are also brilliant in keeping us informed of the levels our children have reached and where they need extra help.” Parent, Coolah, NSW, Australia “My students are improving by the day, and some even stay in for recess to work on IXL!” Helm Jackson, 5th grade teacher, Redmond, Washington, U.S.A. • IXHell‼️

I am a student not a teacher. But I can say from the perspective of a student that this app has taught me nothing. Why?? The reason is IXL doesn't spread out there lesson like a school does. They present an entire area of math at one using every existing way it can be used in your age group. IXL is only useful as some sort of toned down very bad exam. I used this app when I was in sixth grade so I'm going to give an example from sixth grade. If I were to click on the sixth grade order of operations section I would get every way to use order of operations in the sixth grade thrown at me at once. If that wasn't bad enough it also takes to long. You get given less points for right answers than you get taken away for wrong ones. This means you are forever nearly forever stuck on problems you don't understand until you guess enough problems write. Side note the explanation you are given when you give the wrong answer isn't helpful it only shows the math in its raw number form and does nothing to explain why certain things happened.
  • Okay. But a little adjustment

IXL helps me practice my math (which I'm kinda bad at). Its a good educational app. The only problem I have is once you get a question wrong, you have to go like 10 points back. 1 question is 1-4 points. And 10 points is a lot. I would rather not have any points taken away, or at least only a few points taken off. Plus, because of points taken away makes kids feel less confident and feel like they can't do it. It's also SUPER STRESSFUL. Once you get a question wrong when you are 1 point away from finishing it, you are back to square one. Other than those issues, IXL is really helpful.
  • Horrendous

This app does not recognize correct answers containing even the slightest formatting errors. Errors so slight we can't even figure out how our wrong answers are different from the right ones. The website doesn't seem to suffer this problem.
  • Not Bad!

This is a horrible application for my kids

First of all you have to pay for a membership for this game. If you don’t, you have only ten free questions and then you hav to wait twenty four more hours for the next set of ten set of questions. The math section is not specific about what it wants you to answer. Just TOO many bugs to fix!!
  • The worst app ever

    By me from 2000-geometry 2017
Ixl is the reason we have a suicide belt in America. Every time I get on it in math I feel like killing my self. Ixl has caused more pain and heartache that any life tragedy could. I need to see a counselor now. I might even develop bipolar disorder. And don’t get me started on the point system. The point system makes less sense than the math I’m doing.
  • This is the worst app

I'm a fourth grader I hate this app but I have to do it for school.i once guest 104 that was right then it changed it to 124 and I got it wrong.its the most boring app.👎
  • Please add lessons before assignment questions!

    By Eshanmn
I use ixl for my kindergartener and 6th grader as enrichment at home. I like it because it helps kids pay attention to avoid making mistakes. Only those who are afraid to work hard complain about the point system you have. My request to you would be to add lessons before assignments. I hope that you are working on that.
  • Wouldn't Recommend AT ALL

    By Ms. Moralli
IXL is one way to discourage your students and make them dislike math. Many students were begging our school to get rid of IXL, and when the teachers looked into it, all they said was, “We need to try harder.” To all those kids out there who use IXL and are discouraged every day by the evil grading system, you can speak up and make a difference. #vote4noIXL Anyway, app is just plain terrible, and it’s so frustrating for us students. There are some things in life that all of us hate, and for me, it’s this dumb app. Like I said before, this made me HATE MATH. I wouldn’t recommend it to my worst enemy.
