  • Pay to Play BIG Time, but fun...

    By 11freak
This game is fun but prepare to pay big if you want to play it long term. As pay to play as a game can be. First levels are fun playing against similar up and coming players but once you reach the medium skill levels the game will begin matching you with elite players with hangars full of overpowered Robots and weapons. If you want to ever win or even last more than two minutes in those higher level matches be prepared to pay big. I'm talking $200 US for a single robot and $100+ for top weapons. THEN you have to win the gold and silver to upgrade those weapons since they are totally weak at the lower levels. If your willing to commit big time and money to be competitive then this game is for you. If not I'd move on.
  • Nice game

It is fun to play, but to achieve new robots is over costly.
  • Amazing!!

Amazing game however it's really annoying when you're about to get a kill or a beacon and the match ends. You need to make a last squad standing mode where each squad fights till the last robot is destroyed then the victor is proclaimed. Also more maps would be nice. And the getting stuck on walls/cliffs/buildings is still annoying. But amazing game still.

  • Wow, Another Pay to Win

Recently, a few updates that included the Korean bots were dropped by the developers. The Black Market was also introduced around that time, allowing players to obtain rare prizes easily. At least, that's what they wanted us to think. I have unboxed more than 50 silver chests. The best prize that I got was a Gekko, and that was also the only useful prize. Once I won something that costed gold, my luck dropped instantly. 20 times that I spun the wheel, my prize was a lower key count than what I had started out with. Just when you have been grinding for hours and are about to win a Lancelot, the wheel turns and you end up lost 90% profit from what you started out with. The gold chest that you win by spending enough money in the game contains "rare" items only. How the hell is a magnum, which you can get in a week through workshop points, considered rare?! Now you can only win fragments of robots and weapons in the lottery. That's right: you paid $100 for half a robot. You wasted $100 on NOTHING. Ever wanted to buy some items to help boost your score? Ever wanted to buy weapons for $20 that you could have won in-game after grinding for an hour? Why does the Tulumbas sell for around the same price as a Lancelot? One costs less than 500,000 silver, one costs 5000 gold. Gunslingers of the wild west. Pay $100 for a Jesse that performs around the same level as a GI Patton. Want to upgrade your weapons and bots? Have enough silver? Please wait 7 days to use it. You can't wait that long? Pay the gold you grinded for half a year to unlock it instantly! War Robots has become the most PTW game possibly on the App Store. They give special advantages to those players to post videos online, promoting their game. They constantly nerf old items and buff new items to try to make you pay. Next time you play, try to count the total number of players in Champions league who have spent no money on this game and have played for less than a year. It won't even be 5% of the people in that league total.
  • Poisoned the well

I found this an enjoyable game to play and have had fun playing it for about a year now. I used to enjoy grinding to get better weapons and robots or even spending gold here and there. But the robots and weapons are being upgraded so fast you can never get ahead or break even without spending substantial cash. If you spend the money don’t be surprised when there is an update and your premium robot is average again compared to the new releases. This is just a casual pass time for me and I refuse to pay the now $200+ real money to acquire the new robots like the developers are asking us to do. Especially with the glitchy play of the game. It’s not as refined as others. So for now I’m basically done with the game and will move on to something more manageable and rewarding until the developers decide to return to a play scheme that puts the game back in the realm it belongs, a shootem up version of candy crush.
